State Bank of India has revised the salary of the clerk this time. Now the new pay scale of SBI Clerk is Rs 1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Earlier it used to be Rs 11765-655/3-13730-815/3-16175-980/4-20095-1145/7-28110- 2120/1- 30230-1310/1-31450.

This means that the basic salary of SBI Clerk will be Rs 17900/- per month. In which there will be an increase of Rs 1000 every year. The maximum basic salary of SBI Clerk is Rs 47920/- per month.

SBI clerk promotion
There are two ways in which clerks are promoted in SBI. In cadre promotion and promotion in officer cadre.

In Cadre Promotion- This promotion is based on home posting. Which is a timely promotion. In this, a special allowance of Rs 1800 is given on the total salary. After 10 years of service, the assistant becomes a senior assistant. Similarly, after 20 years of service, one becomes a Special Assistant. A special allowance of Rs 2500 is given on this post. After 30 years of service, one gets promoted to the post of Senior Special Assistant. This post gives a special allowance of Rs 3500.

Promotion in Officer Cadre: An Assistant can become a Trainee Officer after completing three years of service. For this one has to pass an internal written examination and interview. Apart from this, JAIIB and CAIIB are conducted by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
Examinations also have to be passed. If selected, he is kept on probation for two years as a trainee officer. After this, there is another interview and they are absorbed in the Middle Management Grade (Scale II) or sent back to the Clerk Grade. An Assistant can also become a Scale I Officer in Junior Management Grade. For this, it is necessary that he has completed six years of service in a fast-track channel or 12 years of service in a normal-track channel.
