After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu, and Kashmir, the relations between India and Pakistan have become more bitter. After this incident, the demand for taking a tough stand against Pakistan has increased in India. Meanwhile, a big question has also arisen what will be the future of the Pakistani students who come to study in Indian universities every year?
Every year, thousands of students from countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tanzania take admission in Indian universities. This list also includes students from Pakistan, who take admission in professional courses like medical, engineering, management and law in India and study. But for Pakistani students, getting an Indian visa is no less than a difficult test.
According to the rules of the Home Ministry, Pakistani students have to take permission from the governments of both the countries for admission in India. Just getting admission in the university is not enough, they have to give proof of being financially capable and have to give complete information about their stay in India to the police.
Visa is not easily available
If we talk about the statistics, every year a large number of Pakistani students apply for higher education in India. But most of them do not get visa. Many times the applications are rejected due to security reasons. And now, after incidents like Pahalgam, it can become even more difficult.
The dream may remain unfulfilled
Now the question is what will happen to those Pakistani students who have completed the admission process in India, but are waiting for the visa? Will India's policy become more strict after Pahalgam? In such a situation, the dream of these students may remain unfulfilled.
The government took tough decisions
The Indian government has taken many tough decisions. In which tough decisions have been taken like suspending Indus Water Treaty, banning visas, asking Pakistani politicians to leave India, closing the Attari border. Also, Pakistanis will not get entry into India under the SAARC visa scheme and those who had received visas have been cancelled.
