Forest's star winger was a product of the academy and it was expected that he would be a star for the Blues for years to come. However, he would fall out of favour in West London and in September 2023 was sold to the East Midlands club.
Since moving to Forest, Hudson-Odoi has been working hard to rediscover his form and has featured in all of Nuno Espirito Santo's team's matches. He bagged his only goal prior to the trip to Chelsea in the surprise 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.
Hudson-Odoi were never teammates in domestic football with Sancho plying his trade at Borussia Dortmund and while the former was at Chelsea. However, the pair were teammates at international level.
The duo first played together with England's U16s but they mainly featured in the same England U17s team which is where their friendship likely grew. On one occasion they did line-up together for the Three Lions' senior team.
