Stacey Solomon's clever lunch box trick saves her so much time in the mornings

There's nothing worse than rushing around in the morning only to remember you've still got to make the school lunch boxes.

Mornings can be hectic for any household as you try and get your kids - as well as yourself - ready for the day. So after everyone is dressed, fed and ready, the worst thing is then realising you've forgotten to make the school lunches.

Now thanks to former X Factor star Stacey Solomon, you can save time in the mornings with her easy lunch box trick and it makes the mornings - or evenings - a doddle. The busy mum-of-five took to Instagram to share a close-up of her fridge and shared her handy food prep technique.

She said: "I decided I needed to do my usual Monday prep today because tomorrow I'm out all day and it's going to be a super busy week," she then showed one of her fridge drawers which was packed with an already prepared salad and added: "So I've made my drawer of salad. I love my drawer of salad."

"I'll show you when I make their lunch boxes tomorrow - I can just grab handfuls of this in the mornings now," Stacey said. She then shared how she prepares her cheese and explained: "Then I grated some cheese, I always add a bit of cheese in there. I know you can buy grated cheese, but don't you think it tastes disgusting? So I just buy my normal cheese, Cathedral City, grate it and then put it back in the packet, grated."

Not only did she have a prepared salad drawer, Stacey then showed another drawer full of ready-to-go fruit, full of raspberries, chopped grapes and strawberries. The clever trick means she can just grab handfuls of healthy salad and fruits in the morning for her children's lunches and saves time.

As a true busy mum, Stacey admitted she didn't have time to prepare carrots, and said she loaded her leftovers into her slow cooker to make a stew instead. She explained: "I didn't do my carrots today, I didn't have time and I couldn’t be bothered. I used all the leftover veg in the fridge and made a stew for tonight."
