A remake of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith will head to the small screens and fans are not pleased after watching a sneak peek.
Prime Video released a trailer for the television series on Thursday. The show stars rapper and actor Donald Glover and actress Maya Erskine, as the iconic John and Jane Smith, played by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the original film.
In the show, the Smiths are the everyday average married couple, but in reality, they're spies. The trailer shows the story of John and Jane's life as spies, doing missions, and a cameo from Sarah Paulson. The television series will premiere on February 2, 2024.

Viewers immediately expressed how they felt about the remake on social media and many were not pleased. One person wrote on Twitter: "You know what really made the original great? The charm, the actual comedy. Every1 wanted to be them in their heads. They could’ve called this something else. But it’s not Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
Another person wrote: "Am I the only one who feels like the Mr & Mrs Smith show didn't necessarily need to be named Mr & Mrs Smith." Many online users reminisced on the original movie with Angelina and Brad saying: "This is MY Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
However, there were some viewers who were excited about the new television series. A fan wrote: "As much as I hate a remake, Im kinda excited about Mr & Mrs Smith. I like that fact it doesn't look like how I/we expected. Even tho "sexy" is a part of the brand. Lol" Another fan wrote: "Note to self: Watch the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith when it's released."
Following the initial Mr and Mrs Smith, Brad and Angelina openly admitted they fell in love on the set of their 2005 film while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston. The superstar couple known as Brangelina, were together for over a decade before the actress filed for divorce in 2016.
The couple share six children together, Maddox, 22, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, Pax, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, and have been battling over custody arrangements as well as financial agreements.
