Lando Norris hits Miami nightclub with Max Verstappen after F1 win before Augusta visit

Lando Norris followed through on his promise to properly celebrate his first Formula 1 victory as he partied in a Miami nightclub with rival Max Verstappen.

At the 110th attempt, Norris became an F1 race-winner on Sunday. He raced away from Verstappen after benefitting from a well-timed safety car to take the chequered flag more than seven second ahead of the Red Bull racer.

The Dutchman is not used to losing but was one of the first to congratulate his friend for his success. And, after celebrating with McLaren colleagues at the Hard Rock Stadium, Norris met up with Verstappen again to party the night away.

Alongside Alpine racer Pierre Gasly, they was spotted at the exclusive E11EVEN nightclub which features DJs, burlesque dancers and trapeze artists. Images and videos of the F1 stars were captured by other partygoers and uploaded to social media.

And they were far from the only famous faces on the guestlist. A swathe of American sport stars were also in attendance, such as NBA heroes LeBron James and Kevin Durant, Miami Dolphins NFL star Tyreek Hill and Kansas City Chiefs duo Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Fellow Briton Lewis Hamilton had advised Norris to change his travel plans after his victory. "I just told him he needs to stay tonight and he is going to try and change his flight. He has got to [stay], he has just won a race," the seven-time F1 champion told reporters.

And Norris confirmed he had taken that advice when he said: "I was meant to fly [tonight], but Zak [Brown, McLaren CEO] just told me we fly tomorrow. I'm not going to sleep - I'm going all the way! I might have just a scratch on my nose tomorrow, but I don't care.

"This only happens once, when you're taking your first win. It's nice that it was here at Miami - I was kind of hoping it would be at Silverstone but I'll try to do it there as well. Tonight is going to be a good night."

After his time at the nightclub, Norris returned to the team hotel where he continued the festivities with McLaren colleagues. The morning after, Norris posted on Instagram with the caption: "Recovery one percent, worth it," likely posted with a sore head.

Norris then flew to Georgia for a long-planned round at Augusta National, the home of The Masters. The 24-year-old had been able to change his tee time at short notice after deciding to spend more time in Miami.
