Khloe Kardashian shared her trouble welcoming her son into her family.
The Good American co-founder shared that she had difficulty connecting with her son Tatum after he was born via surrogate in July 2022. She recalled the tough moment when he was born on the SHE MD podcast.
Hosted by Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi - Khloe's OB-GYN - and Mary Alice Haney, the podcast sets out to empower women through knowledge and becoming their own health advocates. Khloe said she had trouble naming Tatum because, "I wasn't carrying him, I didn't really feel anything."

Khloe added that she kept the surrogacy a secret at first, even from her family. "I never told my family I did the transfer. I wasn't going to tell anyone until it took, because I wanted to surprise everyone. So no one knew," she told the podcast hosts.
Tatum wasn't due for another week or two when Khloe got the call he was arriving, which threw off the reality star. "It devastated me because that's when all the judgment and the knives were thrown at me," she said.
Khloe was planning on taking her daughter True to Disneyland as a last bonding trip before the baby arrived. "I just needed the weekend," she explained, "And so I go, 'No, we can't do this.'"
She then explained how Dr. Aliabadi became her saving grace. "She goes, 'You know what?' I'll deliver the baby. I'll take the baby and you let me know when you're ready to pick him up,'" Khloe recalled.
"And I was like, 'What?' I'm like, 'Who does this? Who even offers that?' And she did. And I remember I was like to myself, 'Khloé, snap out of it. This is life. We got to do this,'" she continued.
The star has been open about her struggle to connect with Tatum. She opened up to her mum, Kris Jenner, on an episode of The Kardashians.
"Compare it to True and him, it’s a different experience," Khloe said, "The connection ... took days with True. With him, it's taking months and we still don’t have a complete bond."
While on the SHE MD podcast, Khloe gave an update on the current state of her bond with her son. She said: "I am obsessed with Tatum now, of course."
