Kelly Osbourne recalls sinister encounter with Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain's blood-stained hair

The Osbourne family have recalled some of their "dark" experiences with Courtney Love - including the time The Hole singer apparently called the police accusing one them of stealing her TV.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, Sharon Osbourne took aim at Courtney, branding her as "interesting as a tampon", while Jack and Kelly Osbourne recalled "weird times" hanging out with the Celebrity Skin singer, 59, as teenagers and debated how they feel about her these days.

At one point, Kelly recalled how Courtney once put clumps of Kurt Cobain's hair in her hand during their friendship, with Jack admitting Courtney had him try on the jacket Kurt was supposedly wearing when he killed himself. The sibling also discussed Courtney giving them drugs as teenagers - something she "absolutely denies".

The conversation began with Kelly asking her family if she could "talk about the time Courtney Love called the police on me and Jack," which caused some debate regarding just who Courtney reported to the cops, with Celebrity Big Brother star Sharon certain Courtney actually rang the police on herself and Ozzy Osbourne.

"That was a weird time," Jack went on to declare, as the famous family recalled Courtney being certain one of them had stolen her 60 inch TV and some personal videos. "The Courtney Love era was a weird f***ing time." He went on to say: "Do you want to know the weirdest experience I ever had with her, ever, beside the drugs? F***ing dark."

He continued: "I'm at her house. There was a, I guess for people listening, there was a period where I technically was dating Kurt Cobain's youngest sister. So I was always over at the house. And we're over there and it was a bad time for Courtney. I think there was a lot of extracurricular activities going on at the time. And she took me into her closet and she had a ton of Kurt Cobain's [clothes]."

Courtney's late husband Kurt, a founding member of the grunge rock band Nirvana, was only 27 when he was found dead in the greenhouse of his Seattle home on 8th April, 1994. The police concluded that the 'Come As You Are' singer had taken his own life three days earlier with a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

Interjecting as her brother tells his story, Kelly asked: "Did she put his hair in your hands?" "No", Jack replied. "She, she said, here, put this on. It was a jacket. And it was the jacket he supposedly was wearing when he killed himself." Kelly then revealed: "Jack, do you know what she did to me? She said, put your hands out.

"And I put my hands out and she put the hair that they shaved off his head in the autopsy in my hand that had red blood on it. And I was just like, 'Oh my God'. And I, I dropped it and she got really mad at me. But I was like, I don't. Yeah. And she was trying to teach me at the time how to manifest things and how important chanting is." Sharon then chimed in, quipping: "It didn't do much good for her then, did it?"

Kelly went on to admit she learned "a lot from Courtney" and finds her to be "an incredibly interesting woman" - something mum Sharon certainly doesn't agree with. "About as interesting as a tampon," Sharon quipped as her youngest daughter praised the iconic rocker.

"Let it be said, she denies all of this. She absolutely denies the whole thing," Jack then declared, to which Kelly added: "Well, I would too if I was hanging out with children and giving them drugs." Jack agreed and admitted he's not seen Courtney in a while "but there were some f***ing weird times".

Sharon then revealed she was sat near Courtney at an event in recent years, but left because she "cannot stand her". "As a mum, I get why mum doesn't like her," Kelly then mused, to which Jack admitted: "I mean, and I kind of feel the same way, I was a kid, you know? And I don't think a 16 or 15 year old - I think I was 15 - says they want to do something.

"Like, you're sick. I wasn't old enough to make my own decisions and she had a child of her own," he added. Sharon concluded the chat, quipping: "So I think it's enough about that old scab so let's move on."

Survived by his wife Courtney and their then one year old daughter Frances Bean Cobain, Kurt was hailed as the voice of a generation before his suicide in 1994. Days on from his death, a grieving Courtney read her late husband's suicide note to thousands of fans during a vigil in Seattle.

During the public vigil for the Smells Like Teen Spirit singer, Courtney stepped up to the microphone and shared excerpts from her late husband's farewell letter with the assembled crowd of grieving fans, interspersing her own commentary on Kurt's final message. At one juncture, after reciting how Kurt's "loves people so much", Courtney reflected aloud: "So why didn't you just f***ing stay? ".

Kurt's iconic line, "It's better to burn out than to fade away," resonated through his note, but Courtney challenged her husband's use of the phrase as she read the letter to those gathered in Seattle shortly after his passing. "Don't remember this because it's a lie," she implored the audience. "That 80s tough love is bulls**t, it doesn't work. We should have let him have his dumbness. I'm sorry you guys, I don't know what I could have done."
