Jose Mourinho can finally make Premier League return with perfect job - and it's not Newcastle

Jose Mourinho could finally make a long-awaited return to the Premier League after managerial spells at Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United. Following a five-month break after being sacked by AS Roma earlier this year, Mourinho returned to the dugout with Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Though there is certainly less of a spotlight on football in Turkiye as opposed to England or Italy, Mourinho has unsurprisingly remained in the headlines. When facing former club Man United in the Europa League recently, the Portuguese coach was sent off for his reaction after his side were denied a penalty.

Just a few weeks later, Mourinho was at the centre of another major talking point following Fenerbahce's dramatic late victory over Tranzonspor. Having ran onto the pitch to celebrate, before condemning match officials in a press conference, he was fined £15,000 and handed a one-match ban.

Though that only occurred on Friday, a bigger update on Mourinho emerged with the reporting he is keen on the Newcastle job if Eddie Howe departs. It does not currently look as though the Magpies boss has any plans to leave or is in immediate danger of losing his job, especially with Thomas Tuchel confirmed as England manager.

While Mourinho would be a good fit at St James' Park, there is perhaps a better club for him that could soon have a managerial vacancy. On Saturday afternoon, West Ham played out a draw against Everton with limited chances and thus Julen Lopetegui appears severely under pressure with the Hammers fourteenth in the Premier League table.

The 61-year-old still has property in London, having spent several years in the capital, and would therefore find it rather straightforward to transition into new living condition. West Ham also clearly have a talented squad, which will please Mourinho, but things just aren't clicking at the moment.

The east Londoners had a solid manager in David Moyes but opted to try and push on with the aim of regularly pushing for European football. However, that gamble has not paid off and with that in mind, it may be worth going for a safe approach that Mourinho could definitely provide.
