Jane McDonald cheekily issued an apology to fans on live The One Show after it was pointed out that she's marking her 25th anniversary of cruising.

The 61-year-old singer and TV presenter appeared on the BBC magazine show on Monday (September 23) alongside The Script's Danny O'Donoghue to discuss their latest projects.

Welcoming Jane to the show, Alex said: "So nice to have you with us." The former Loose Women star replied: "it's great to be here." Alex continued: "Jane, we cannot believe it is 25 years since the cruise gave us Jane McDonald."

She replied: "I'm sorry." Alex added: "No, absolutely iconic. But the thing is it could have been very different." Jane agreed: "Yeah it could have been.

"Due to a chocolate buffet. They put a chocolate buffet against my show and everybody got up and walked out to the chocolate buffet and if I knew I would have gone myself."

"I'd just got the show right but don't take anything for granted I say and you have to fail in this industry. I've failed a lot and that's in the book and the failures really. I've learned a lot the hard way."
