Jen Affleck, star of The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives, has been making waves since the docuseries premiered on Disney+ and Hulu on Friday, September 6.

The show, which has caused a stir among subscribers and the LDS (Latter-Day Saints) Church, explores the lives of eight Mormon wives from Utah who gained fame through their social media #MomTok and a subsequent "soft-swinging" scandal.

Reality star Jen, 25, been married to her husband Zac, a medical student, since 2019 after meeting him on the Mormon dating app Mutual in 2018.

They got engaged six months later and tied the knot the following year. The couple welcomed their daughter Nora in November 2021 and son Luca in July last year.

Jen's rise to social media stardom began when she started a videography business a few years ago and began sharing her pregnancy journey, earning millions of views overnight. Interestingly, she also has a connection to Hollywood - her husband Zac is a distant relative of Gone Girl actor Ben Affleck.

However, while Zac met his famous second cousin years ago, Jen has yet to be introduced.

Despite not knowing the rest of The Secret Lives cast before the show, Jen was persuaded to join the series by her manager.

Jen opened up about her marriage with Zac, acknowledging that their union was in a "rocky place" before they started filming. The tension escalated after a trip to Las Vegas where Zac warned she could end up divorced if she attended a Chippendales performance.

Speaking candidly to Vulture, Jen revealed: "It's scary to have your relationship exposed to the world."

"We went into the season in a rocky place, but I still wanted to move forward with filming, because that's what felt right to me, my career, and wanting to provide for my family."

"Looking back, it's probably the best thing to happen to us, because a lot of the things they showed were things I didn't want to acknowledge."

"That's something a lot of members of the Church do, and I think that's something that needs to change in the culture."

She further declared that since the show wrapped, they had been engaging in "therapy nonstop" and are working hard to repair their relationship.

The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives is available to watch on Disney+.
