Inside 'Adele World' - the stunning new stadium built for 80,000 fans a night revealed

She has been playing to 4,000 people in her Las Vegas gigs so this will be quite a shock to the system.

But builders are putting the final touches to Adele's super stadium in Munich. Dubbed 'Adele World' the venue will be home to the London singer and global start from next weekend. And 74,000 fans are expected to watch her every night in the specially-built "pop up" stadium.

The venue will also host an "Adele experience" featuring an English pub, a stage for a cover band and stalls selling specially designed cocktails. Organisers are also aiming to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest outdoor screen of all time.

The 220 metre wide and 30 metre high LED screen being installed will cost £34million. The entire setup is designed to resemble a concert shell, reminiscent of venues in Las Vegas but on a grander scale. Adele posted pictures of the venue to her Instagram account after visiting it earlier this month, calling the set-up "bloody exciting".

And she told German Broadcaster ZDF that the giant video installation would enhance the experience for fans. "They just want to see your face and know it's you, so the screens are enormous." Despite the first show starting on Friday, around 5% of tickets for the shows over the next month are still available to buy.

They are likely to be snapped up though as the 10-date residency will be her last gig of the year aside from some more Vegas shows which are already sold out. "My tank is quite empty at the minute," the star said ahead of the residency in Munich. "I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while. You know, I don’t even sing at home at all. How strange is that?”

Fans going to the shows next weekend may get to hear from Adele about her reported new engagement, as she is known for being chatty on stage between songs. Despite months of speculation that they had wed already, American sports agent Rich Paul is actually said to have proposed last week.

Adele, 36, had previously sparked rumours they were hitched by referring on stage to Rich, 42, as her husband and calling herself his wife but it was an "in joke". Previously she was married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki from 2018 to 2021 and they share an 11-year-old son Angelo.

Adele could take time off to plan for a wedding next year, with her residency in Las Vegas ending in November. Her last album came out in 2021, and she has spent the past two years playing a weekend residency, recently completing her 90th show at the 4,000-capacity Caesar's Palace.

Adele said one of the reasons she wants to take a break from music is because of a struggle with the limelight. "I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most," she said.

"I like that I get to make music all the time, whenever I want to, and people are receptive to it and like it. That's pretty unimaginable. But the fame side of it, I absolutely hate. The fact that people are even interested in my songs and my voice is pretty wild. I don't think it ever gets normal. So it's worth it, the balance."
