Hunt: Showdown 1896 servers down for the return of Stillwater Bayou – here's when they're back

Send Push

A month after the huge next-gen patch, Crtytek is starting to reintroduce Hunt: Showdown 1896's original maps starting with Stillwater Bayou today.

Update: Servers are back online and Stillwater Bayou is in the game now. You can read the full patch notes here.

Original story: Hunt: Showdown 1896 servers are down today as Crytek delivers the first of the game's original three maps now that it's had its next-gen overhaul, following the revamp from the original Hunt: Showdown and the massive update last month that gave it a glow up, and dropped PS4 and Xbox One support.

Originally offering three maps before its update and the addition of the 1896 to its name, players will be hopping back into Stillwater Bayou today, one month after the game's overhaul. It joins the new Mammon's Gulch map that rolled out with the Hunt: Showdown 1896 makeover, which was the first new map the game had seen in three years. Each of the original trio is getting a glow-up, and Lawson Delta, and DeSalle are next on the list.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 servers down

Hunt: Showdown 1896 servers are down today, Wednesday, September 18 from 8am BST / 3am EDT / 12am PDT with downtime expected to last for three hours. If all goes well and we stick to this schedule, Hunt: Showdown 1896 servers will be back at 11am BST / 6am EDT / 3am PDT.

News of the planned Hunt: Showdown 1896 server downtime was shared on the game's socials as well as Discord server. As well as the return of Stillwater Bayou, Crytek has promised IU improvements, which have been a point of contention since the game's transition to its '1896' version. Whether they'll land with the community is another issue.

That being said, in a Reddit post, Crytek has stressed that this is "a first pass of minor Ui improvements" so expect more to come, which may potentially take player feedback into account. There's also bug fixes to look forward to, and you can check out the early patch notes from the same Reddit post below. These changes are rolling out to PC, Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X and will be active once Hunt: Showdown 1896 server downtime is complete.
