Harry Kane's reaction to Bayern Munich's Champions League exit says it all

Another club season has come and gone and Harry Kane is still unable to lift a trophy - following Bayern Munich's Champions League exit to Real Madrid.

The German outfit experienced a crushing defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, with a late double from Joselu propelling Los Blancos into the final of Europe's top-tier competition once more. Alphonso Davies had catapulted the visitors into euphoria in the 68th minute before Carlo Ancelotti's men narrowly beat the clock to deliver a devastating blow.

Kane was forced to observe from the sidelines after being substituted in the 85th minute. The England skipper could only watch in agony from the dugout as ex-Stoke forward Joselu netted his brace, while the German titans saw Matthijs de Ligt's attempt disallowed for offside.

The £86.4million switch to the Allianz Arena from Tottenham was supposed to break Kane's trophy drought. However, Real Madrid and a Bayer Leverkusen team on track to go unbeaten in the Bundesliga have joined forces to ensure he remains without club success.

The striker's face was a picture of despair as his team succumbed to defeat. Kane could do nothing but let his arm drop, rest his forehead on the seat in front of him and lower his gaze to the ground, reports the Mirror.

Despite Kane's evident desire to influence the game's dying moments, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel stood by his choices post-match. In his DAZN interview, Tuchel reflected on the loss: "It hurts. It'll take a while to recover, but on the one hand it's a loss where we left it all out on the pitch.

"Of course, it's tough to accept. It's part of reality. No regrets. But on the other, there were too many injuries, a few too many substitutions, too many cramps.

"We started with a front four and by the end they were all off the pitch. And then Manu, who had been exceptional in saving us all night, made a mistake he wouldn't make in another 100 years."
