Graeme Souness and Simon Jordan agree on Mohamed Salah Liverpool future - 'Made up his mind'

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Mohamed Salah has already decided that this season will be his last on Merseyside.

Salah is out of contract in June 2025 and has been heavily linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, with Liverpool having already turned down a huge bid for the player from Al-Ittihad 12 months ago.

Saudi Pro League clubs have signed several high-profile players over the last couple of years, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Sadio Mane swapping Europe for the riches of the Middle East.

Salah revealed after Sunday's win over Manchester United that he arrived for the match wondering whether it might be the last time that he would play for Liverpool at Old Trafford.

"I was coming to the game, I was saying, 'look, it could be the last time'," Salah told Sky Sports. "Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts so I was just like, 'OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season.’ I feel I am free to play football – we will see what happens next year.”

Speaking on talkSPORT, Souness said he thinks Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign. “I think he’s already made his mind up.” Souness began. “I think he’s got something lined up. You have to factor in his family as well, his wife may want to go to Saudi Arabia or take his family back to an Arabic-speaking country."

Businessman Simon Jordan, who co-hosts the station's mid-morning 'White and Jordan' show, added: “I’m assuming his representatives will have had conversations - I don’t know if he has. I always assumed he would go to Saudi Arabia. I look at it as there will be a time when Liverpool move on, post-Salah, whether that is this year, or next year, Liverpool will evolve and continue to be successful.”
