Daniel Lustig-Webb will support his husband Stephen Webb through anything - even dating.
The 43-year-old, who shot to fame by appearing alongside Stephen on the Channel 4 reality series Gogglebox, announced their separation last month after six years of marriage, breaking the hearts of many fans. And after insisting they would remain "good friends" regardless, Daniel has proved the TV star will always be able to count on him.
Speaking to The Sun, the hairdresser reacted to Stephen's upcoming stint on the E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating, which has helped many unexpected romances blossom, mere weeks after letting their fans know they had gone their separate ways.
"I’ve seen them in the press but I don’t know anything about it really", he said, making it clear he had nothing against Stephen trying his luck again. "But anything he goes on to do, I’ll definitely support him and watch."
Daniel was then asked if it was too early for Stephen to think about joining a dating show - a suggestion he immediately dismissed. "No not at all, it’s something that’s gone on for a while and he’ll be a very good candidate. He’s got some very very funny stories if he is going on it."
Despite their separation, Daniel is keen to see Stephen "find love again" and move on: "Yes, of course I want him to find love again. We always want our exes and friends to find love and just to be happy."
Recent reports have claimed that Stephen, who left Gogglebox last year after a decade, was approached by Celebs Go Dating bosses after announcing he was back on the market with one TV insider stating: "Stephen is set to sign up for Celebs Go Dating after successful advanced talks with E4 producers."
The news followed Stephen's missed stint on Dancing On Ice, which he was due to join last year. "Stephen is also really keen to have some fun again after a difficult few months, and he’s also raring to get back on TV after having to step down from Dancing on Ice due to injury."
"He was gutted when that fell through, but he feels excited to take on a new project", the source added, "he is realistic that he may not find Mr Right but he is up for a laugh on the dating scene."
Stephen and Daniel announced their separation in April, 2024, with the former releasing a statement reading: "It's with much sadness Daniel and I have decided to divorce. There is, and always will be, a lot of love there but we've unfortunately grown apart and made the decision to part ways."
While viewers may have to wait and see before Stephen can be on the hunt for his new match, many of them were pleased to see him on good terms with Daniel as the pair were seen back at work together in their joined salon.
