Eva Longoria reveals her Desperate Housewives wish to Loose Women

Send Push

Eva Longoria joined the Loose Women panel for a chat on Thursday and it wasn't long until chat turned to her iconic series, Desperate Housewives.

The actress, 49, played the role of Gabrielle Solis on the racy series and was asked whether she would be up for a role on any reboot of the series 20 years on from its initial release.

Much to the panel's surprise, Eva revealed she "wished" a reboot would be on the cards and would be "first in line" if it was ever an option. Her words were met with glee by Denise Welch and Kaye Adams, who both admitted to loving the show previously.

Eva said: "Everybody asks me one hundred times a day if we're going to do a [Desperate Housewives] reboot and I'm like, I'd be the first one to sign up. I'd be on Wisteria Lane right now just waiting, waiting, for the crew."

She continued: "I loved my time on that show. I love all the women."

Eva added she misses portraying her character from the show, saying: "I miss Gabi. I miss being in her skin."

She also revealed she keeps in touch with many of the cast from the famous show and said this week she had bee in contact with her former on-screen partner, Ricardo Antonio Chavira, who played Carlos.

It's not the first time she's shared her keenness to reboot the show. Back in 2022 while speaking to Rosanna Scotto during an appearance on Fox Five New York, she explained would definitely reprise her role on the show, which she starred in alongside Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman.

At the time, she enthused: "Believe me, I would be the first to sign up. I'm already on Wisteria Lane. I'd be like, sign me up."

Eva was on the show to discuss her new role on Land of Women, which was released last month. It marked her first time back on the small screen in 10 years as she portrays Gala.

The Apple TV+ series follows as Eva plays a New York socialite who is forced to flee to a charming Spanish wine town with her mother (Carmen Maura) and daughter (Victoria Bazua).

Talking about getting back into acting, Eva told Kaye and Denise: "I hadn’t been on TV in over a decade and if I go back into TV I wanted it to be something different and something special and so I just got it in my head that I wanted to shoot in Spain and I wanted to act in Spanish for the first time. But I think doing comedy in a different language has a totally different rhythm.”
