Heading into the final three Premier League matches of the season, Chelsea's campaign is far from over with plenty still to play for.
remain favourites to win the and should advance to the final with ease on Thursday night. However, they will be wanting to finish in more than just the Europa League as their sole reward.
currently occupy a place in the top five which, if it finished like that, would see them qualify for next season's . A spot in Europe's elite competition would be a huge boost for the club's transfer ambitions.
With this in mind, football.london has taken a look at a couple of transfer rumours that are circulating around the Blues.
Hancko transfer twistAccording to , Chelsea and are both considering a move for Feyenoord's impressive centre-back David Hancko this summer. However, Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr has reportedly entered the race and is willing to offer more than £27m for the Slovakian.
What FL says: At 27, Hancko represents a defender with a clear shelf-life. While he is still good for another five years at least, the Blues will be aware that they are unlikely to gain much in the future for selling him. As such, Chelsea need to be careful about being drawn into a financial tug of war for the defender. Al Nassr will undoubtedly be willing to spend more than the Blues so if Chelsea truly want Hancko, they will need to hope that he would prefer to stay in Europe than head to the Middle East.
Cucurella exit stanceAccording to , Chelsea have no desire to sell in the . It is claimed that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are interested in the full-back.
However, with three years remaining on his contract, Cucurella is still seen as being a key player for the Blues. It is also understood that the Spaniard is settled in London and is not angling for a move back to his home country.
What FL says: On the face of things, Chelsea are in a strong position to keep hold of their defender. Cucurella has managed to take his confident form in the Euros to the Premier League and his six goals from left-back is definitely impressive. Barca and Real are always going to be enticing for players, especially those hailing from Spain. But, with a healthy number of years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, both teams will need to spend big for the defender.
