BBC Strictly's Tasha Ghouri details secret weapon as she opens up on Blackpool performance

Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri has explained how performing in Blackpool this weekend could benefit her.

During Tuesday's It Takes Two, host Fleur East highlighted the atmosphere in the iconic ballroom before asking if the additional noise will impact how Tasha hears the music through her implant.

The Strictly star said: "Definitely because in the studio it's soundproof, it's so intimate, it's small. So, in the Tower Ballroom, it's going to be a whole different sound.

"It's going to be echoey, so it's going to be something that I need to get used to. I don't have much time to get used to it either. So, it's going to be a situation where on the day, in rehearsals, we'll see how it goes."

However, she explained that she would have one advantage due to the setting where they'll be performing.

Tasha added, "It is definitely going to be more echoey, but the advantage is I will feel it more in my body because it's much more vibration. More of that runs through my body, so if anything, it could actually be more of an advantage."

Her dancing professional partner Aljaz seemed thrilled with this knowledge as he gave her a high five and said: "I didn't know, get in!"

Speaking about their upcoming routine, Aljaz didn't hold back his excitement at dancing a Paso Doble in Blackpool, confessing he's been attempting to do it for years.

He told Fleur he had put everything that existed in iconic dance into their performance, along with extra dancers.

Aljaz added: "I am ecstatic, honestly; all I can say is Órale!"

Currently, the dancing duo are at the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 37.

However, they were not the only ones who impressed the judges; JB Gill and Lauren Oakley received the same score for their routine.

This is JB's third time at the top of the leaderboard, following the exit of former dance partner Amy Dowden.

A spokesperson says: "Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not be partaking in the rest of the competition this year. Whilst Amy focuses on her recovery following a foot injury, fellow Professional Dancer, Lauren Oakley, will step in as JB’s dance partner. The health and wellbeing of everyone involved in Strictly are always the utmost priority. The whole Strictly family sends Amy love and well wishes.”

Last weekend, we also saw the exit of Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, who were sent home by head judge after failing to impress her against Wynne Evans during the dance-off.

It Takes Two continues weekdays on BBC Two from 6:30pm
