Strictly Come Dancing's judges made a bold prediction on Saturday night during the show's Movie Week.

During the latest instalment, actor and pro Michelle Tsiakkas performed a quickstep to I’m Still Standing by Sir Elton John from the biopic Rocketman.

Jamie, 30, who plays Jay Brown on the One soap, looked incredible as he transformed into Elton with an incredible costume complete with sparkly sunglasses.

After the routine, the judges were quick to praise the contestant as Anton Du Beke declared: "You know, you really are a super super dancer. I think you could be one of the favourites to lift the trophy to be quite honest with you, I think you are an exceptional talent."

While Motsi Mabuse echoed Anton's sentiments with: "Yes, Anton, I think the Glitterball is quite close to you!" After a telling sign from the judges that they see Jamie potentially winning the show, host Tess Daly said: "Thank you judges. Two out of four mentioned the Glitterball... that's big news!"

Speaking about the incredible feedback, Jamie said: "It's a bit too early to be mentioning the Glitterball... none the less, I appreciate everything they say!" For the scoring, Jamie received a total of 30 points with Craig Revel Horwood giving eight, Motsi eight, seven and Anton seven.

Taking to , now X, viewers were quick to praise Jamie's routine. One person said: "Jamie really threw himself into that! Well done! #Strictly", a different account put: "#Strictly Jamie was ACE in that", another wrote: "LOVED THAT JAMIE BORTHWICK #Strictly" while a different viewer added: "Well I loved that! Well done Jamie! #Strictly."

During the episode, the professional dancers and their celebrity partners performed movie-inspired routines complete with costumes. Earlier in the evening, the show opened with the professional dancers transformed into Minions from the Despicable Me franchise with Kai Widdrington dressed as Gru, the grouchy former supervillain and protagonist of the film series, while the other professionals donned yellow bodysuits to mimic the tiny henchmen.

However, sadly, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk were due to perform the Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2 before Nick pulled out on Friday due to an injury. As per the Strictly rules, the pair will "receive a bye" through to next week’s show in the hope he has recovered.

It comes as last weekend Olympian Tom Dean and his dance partner Nadiya Bychkova became the first pair to leave the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
