During the fourth Test in Ranchi, some supporters from England were pleasantly surprised by the affordable price of samosas at the food court within the JSCA International Stadium Complex. The official fan page of the English team, Barmy Army, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share this discovery.

The fanbase shared a photo of a tray brimming with samosas on the microblogging platform, captioned, “50 rupees for 2 samosas.” Converting the price to British pounds, these two samosas would cost a mere £0.48 in their homeland. While this seemed inexpensive from the English perspective, local Indians found the rate less enticing, believing that a single samosa should typically cost around Rs 10.

A concerned Indian user commented, “That is so expensive. It is 10 Rupees a samosa outside.”

In contrast, another user argued that the price was reasonable if the store inside the stadium provided hot and fresh samosas.

One Indian fan considered it “a great deal” but pointed out, “Still, you were charged exorbitantly; in my city, the two samosas will cost only 30 rupees.”

Commenting on the higher prices of food items within stadiums, a Gurugram resident remarked, “It's 20 rupees a samosa here in Gurgaon. I think it’s a fair price in a stadium. Stadium prices are a little up everywhere.”

Regarding the ongoing Test series, India has taken a commanding 2-1 lead in the five-match series with consecutive victories in the second and third games. Although England started the tour impressively with a 28-run win in the series opener in Hyderabad, they faltered in subsequent matches, losing the Vizag Test by 106 runs before enduring a humiliating 434-run defeat in the Rajkot fixture.
