Baba Ziauddin Siddique, 66, was a renowned politician, celebrated not only in political circles but also for his strong connections within Bollywood. However, on October 12, 2024, Baba Siddique was shot outside his son’s office by three unidentified assailants. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead soon after. The murder has sent shockwaves through the bustling city of Mumbai and created fear in the hearts of many, especially those closest to Baba Siddique.
Baba Siddique is survived by his wife, Shehzeen Siddique, his son, Zeeshan Siddique, and his daughter, Arshia Siddique . While Zeeshan Siddique is also an Indian politician and currently serves as an MLA in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the Bandra East constituency, his daughter Arshia is a doctor and an entrepreneur.
Arshia is the second child of Baba Siddique and Shehzeen and was born on July 29, 1989. She began her professional studies at DY Patil University School of Management and then went on to complete an MBBS degree from University College London (UCL). Along with a degree in medicine, Arshia also holds an MSc degree in management and business administration.
Influenced by her environment, Arshia had a brief stint in politics too, only to realize later that her heart’s calling was in medicine. Since she also had a degree in management, Arshia launched several ventures, including founding a company specializing in headsets and tablets. She co-founded Skrite Labs in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, in 2016, a sky-based augmented reality platform. In 2017, she became the CEO of Shopease Techsoft Private Limited.
She is also the owner of Kunafa World café in Mumbai. Kunafa is a Middle Eastern sweet made of semolina dough, sugar, saffron syrup, cream, cheese, and dry fruits. In an interview, she spoke about the café and her intent to bring it to Mumbai, saying, “My primary intent in bringing Kunafa World to Mumbai was to acquaint my city with yet another esoteric wonder of the world on a plate.”
With several businesses under her name and a medical degree, Arshia has earned quite a fortune. As per reports, her net worth stands at around ₹5 crores (about $600,000 USD).
